Valentine’s Day is fast approaching. You need a gift, but your budget hasn’t recovered from Christmas yet. What do you do? Crochet one!
The Be Mine Beanie uses one or two skeins of super bulky yarn and a size L hook. It works up fast and won’t break the bank. There are some optional finishing touches you can add to it, too. I made mine all in one color, but you could always do two colors or more if you want stripes.
I know you’re ready to get started, so let’s do it.
Contents
Be Mine Beanie Pattern
Materials:
2 balls Lion Brand Hometown in Honolulu Hibiscus
Faux Fur pompom
Tapestry needle
Scissors
Notes:
- The border and any flowers or hearts can be done in a complimentary color.
- If you want your hat to fit closer, leave out row 5 or use a size K hook.
Special stitches:
- Crab stitch: Also known as reverse single crochet, to work the crab stitch, insert your hook into the stitch behind the current stitch and pull up a loop. Yarn over and pull through both loops on your hook. First crab stitch/reverse single crochet made. Continue around. As you work the crab stitch, you will notice it makes a ropey row as the border.
